Highland Park Daffodils in Rochester, New York

Photographer Jean Arf tells us about this April 14, 2010 photo: It was taken in Highland Park in Rochester, New York, which is a Frederick Law Olmsted-designed park (he also designed Central Park, the Emerald Necklace in Boston, many others). It is a botanical park/arboretum with collections of many types of trees and plants, some rare, but it is most famous for its lilac collection.

Can’t tell you anything about the daffodils really. I find that spot particularly beautiful and probably photograph it hundreds of times during the spring.

Photographer TruppPhoto tells us about this March 21, 2010 image: I snapped this picture of a bed of daffodils in the center of Time Square in New York City. The flowers almost seem out of place when surrounded by all the lights and activity of this area, but these daffodils are definitely holding their own.

This image was taken with my brand new 35mm lens at f/4.8. These flowers were the perfect test subjects.
