Daffodil Path at Kew Gardens in London

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

Daffodil Path, originally uploaded by Julie Littlefield.

Photographer Julie Littlefield tells us about this March 15, 2009 image: It was taken at Kew Gardens in London, UK (Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew – to give it the full name). It’s in the Woodland Garden, the path leads down from the Temple of Aeolius which sits on top of a small hill. I took it on Sunday so it’s very recent. I’m afraid I didn’t take much notice of which type of daffodills they are, but if it’s any help they seemed to be the usual large ones without any ruffles.

Here’s another Kew Gardens photo from the same day, also posted by Julie Littlefield.

Here is the wikipedia page about Kew Gardens.

Daffodil Woods in Stubbington, England

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

Daffodil Woods, originally uploaded by GranDadWoof.

Photographer GranDadWoof tells us about this March 14, 2009 image: It was shot with a Nikon D300 using a beautiful old Nikon 200mm f/4 Ai-S manual-focus lens in a small wood adjacent to Crofton Cemetary – which is next to the original churchyard of Crofton Old Church, Stubbington, Hampshire, UK.

The daffodils grow wild there and though I am unable to tell what variety they are. they do appear to be a domestic variety that must have escaped from captivity :-)

These daffodils were made by Graphic Design Students from the University of the Arts, London, including myself. We are called the Magpie Collective.
