These Tennessee Daffodils Survived!

Sunday, March 23rd, 2008

Daffodils Under a Blanket of Snow, originally uploaded by Gail S.

Tennessee had a pretty snowstorm in early March. Fortunately, the soon-to-be-pretty daffodils survived. This photo was taken on March 9, 2008.

We wrote to the photographer, Gail S, inquiring about the current weather and the health of these daffodils in Tennessee. Here is the daffodils report from West Tennessee:

We are in West Tennessee, just 50 miles east of Memphis and about 40 miles north of Mississippi. It is about 55 degrees Fahrenheit today and the sun is shining. The daffodils are out and more are coming! It’s just lovely. The snow only lasted a day or two. It didn’t snow at all in 2007 and only once in 2006 and in 2005. Snow is rare for us here and quite a treat!
