Photographer Sideshow Bruce tells us about this March 20, 2010 image: I took the picture on our way to the 2010 Daffodil Festival held at the Long Tom Grange, west of Junction City, Oregon. www.junctioncity.com/news/daffodils/index.htm We were just headed down the road and the setting with the barn, flowers, and sun caught our eye, so we had to stop and take a picture. Curiously, this was one of the places that still had good bloom – most were past their prime. This year has been unusually warm and most of the daffodils have been blooming for quite some time already. I can’t recall the exact date, but I had been seeing some blooming around our neighborhood since early February.

These daffodils that you see in this image are the very first ones to show themselves in the valley and they were growing wild in a farmers field by that old oak tree you see off in the distance.

This scene seemed surreal to me. I remember driving by and after about a mile I just couldn’t keep on going until I went back and took this picture.

We love the composition of this photo (picture in a picture). The photographer one beach tells us about this January 24, 2009 photo: The photo of my daffodils was taken in my backyard, in Beaverton, Oregon. I planted over 100 about 6 years ago, but the squirrels and moles liked them a lot, so I only get a few blooms anymore.

Rose moved the pot from the window to the table. She didn’t want the little ones to get too much sun, and the exercise did them good. She looked at the shoots, one was opening early. If she was lucky, though, it could be saved. Coaxed back to sleep, if only for a week or so.
