Daffodil in snow, originally uploaded by oakjane.
This otherworldly photo titled “Daffodil in Snow” was taken on February 3, 2008. Photographer oakjane tells us: It was taken in my neighbour’s garden in Ledbury, Herefordshire, England. The image reminds me Spring is on its way. It feels very hopeful and positive – new life pushing through the snow. I got pretty wet lying in the snow to take it but it was worth it!
I walked round the same garden today 3 days later – the snow and the magic has gone. If I hadn’t been taking photos I’d have walked straight on by. Taking close ups of flowers is a gateway to another world – right on my doorstep – beauty at my feet, if only I stop and see.

This is a beautiful picture! I wrote a poem that has a line about daffodils and crocuses poking their heads through the snow in spring. I’d like to make a video of the poem and am wondering if I may use this. If not I’ll keep looking, but this is definitely a sweet picture! Thanks.
There is a link to the photographer in the photo – please write to the photographer. Nice idea for a video -
