We wrote to SweetMeow, asking for details about this January 28, 2009 image: This photo was taken in our yard – on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. I admit, I was rather surprised to see buds this early, because I’m used to these blooming during the month of March. We’ve had some cold weather which I’d think would stall the growth. But — maybe not….
I did not plant these, as they were planted a very long time ago by my mother in law when they owned the house where we are now. She died this year, and in my mind, it’s a tribute to her and her love of flowers.
I did go to your blog and it’s wonderful to read and see all the daffodils, some which were blooming in among the snow! With that in mind, maybe these daffodil buds truly are not early.
