Photographer Free 2 Be tells us: The photo was taken in the garden on the deck of my condo, in North Vancouver, BC, Canada. They are King Alfred daffodils (I think).
Here are more comments about these Vancouver daffodils, taken from Free 2 Be’s posted flickr image: 11/365 (January 11, 2010) – I love many things about Vancouver. One of these is the fact that [we] tend to refer to January as “Spring”. Yes, technically the rest of the country is usually still in the grips of Old Man Winter, and yes, we can certainly get hit with cold weather after January 1st…. but look, my daffodils are coming up already! And no, this is not unusual…I generally expect to see them sticking their heads out already.
So even though the calendar says winter, I say spring!
