Herons and Daffodils in the Lake District

amid the daffodils, originally uploaded by steven brannon.

Photographer Steven Brannon tells us about this April 3, 2009 photo: It was taken in the gardens of Muncaster Castle in the Lake District National Park, Cumbria, UK just 15 miles from where I live. The daffodils in these parts can be truly fantastic, in fact a local poet – William Wordsworth – who was born about ten miles from where I live – wrote quite a famous poem about them.

I don’t think even Wordsworth could have painted a prettier picture in our mind’s eye than the one conveyed by the field of daffodils with Herons. Happy blogging.
