Photographer Melissa @ PPC tells us about this April 4, 2009 image: This photo was taken in Schenley Park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This bed is part of an effort the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy has started called The Daffodil Project, which aims to plant 50,000 daffodil bulbs in the parks over the next few years. This is the pilot site, where 5,000 bulbs were planted in 2007 and another 7,850 in 2008.
These daffodils are at their peak now. Melissa sends us this link to a panoramic image taken today, April 16, 2009: It’s a stitch of 48 images so you can dive and see how many daffodils you can count.
